RR 238 (150 BKS.) (DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} 481-8-12 24) MP 306975 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To: Cundell Order No. Customer's No. High Voltage Breakdown Test After 1/2 hour in oven at 150C, tested when bent in 1/2" diameter circle. 40 .0076 Single bore. Wire to earth breakdown voltage 27,000 peak 40 .0076 Three bore. Wire to wire breakdown voltage 24,350 peak 40 .0076 Three bore. Wire to earth breakdown voltage 24,200 peak 74 .0076 Wire to earth breakdown voltage 25,600 peak 20 .0076 Wire to earth breakdown voltage 24,200 peak. High Tension Cable Test Effect on dielectric for 4 hours at 150C After this test the para rubber was very plastic and had run into the core. The external covering of vulcanised rubber was in very good condition. Inflammability Test The cable was held in a naked flame, and commenced to burn after 1.5 seconds. High Voltage Breakdown Test The sample failed to breakdown after remaining for fifteen minutes with a potential of 27,431 volts peak applied between the core and earth.
