R.{Sir Henry Royce} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X.7230 E1/M20.3.28. EAC.10 EXHAUST PIPE FLANGE. Please find herewith a blueprint of LeC.2532 dealing with the above. We have shewn 2 schemes for modifying this flange to provide some tolerance for lineability of the flanges. Sch. A.{Mr Adams} shews a spherical washer bolted in the joint arranged so that the bolts pass through ears on the washer. Sch.B. shews a joint with no washer at all. The bolts are situated outside of the joint face, and the bolt lugs are made of suitable depth to withstand the overhung load. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
