vers 3A. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Ha/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Ha/Rn.{Mr Robinson}4/KT.31.3.33. We attach curve Rn.{Mr Robinson}B.5. which shows the ignition advance characteristics required on the Bentley engine and the compromise which we have effected with the governor, in order to get the nearest approach to maximum power without detonation. We consider that curve (7) gives the best road results, as we have to retard the ignition to about 13° B.T.D.C. in order to cut out detonation with poor fuels. Ha/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
