Comparison of the performance of fabric pumps against a metal piston type pump.

Both the RR and the AMAL fabric pumps gave better results than the AMAL metal piston type.

The AMAL fabric pump was provided with a very strong plunger spring (approx 75 lb/in rating) and it was observed during the above tests that the plunger followed the cam profile fairly closely, the max loss of stroke being approximately .050" compared with previous observed losses of .125".
