Engineer}/4/MA.16.2.35. MARLES STEERING ON 25 HP. We herewith attach blueprints of all the drawings in connection with the experimental fitting of Marles steering Gear to the 25HP. The following is a brief specification of the gear which we propose to standardise. (1) Marles Gear L7 Type R.H. (2) Cam giving 3 1/4 turns of wheel between stops in box. (3) Pendulum lever length 10.00" (4) Side steering with reduced movement and increased set up load as on Bentley. No provision was made on the experimental gears for bijur lubrication of the side steering tube. The nut EX.15857 which secures the stationary control tube was modified to EX.17058 to form a gland to prevent oil leakage. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.J.Hardy. Prints attached. Adamant Co's.
