Many thanks for Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG12.2.29, but as mentioned on the telephone to-day I am very sorry that you have sent off Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG13.2.29 to R.{Sir Henry Royce} because in my Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}1/E12.2.29 I specially said that I should like to discuss this matter with you before you go to Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence......... and I should like to make sure that you appreciate our views on the subject before seeing R.{Sir Henry Royce} C. and I have read your memo. to R.{Sir Henry Royce} and we both feel that you have made the position more difficult for us than (strikethrough: hxfxxx) it was before, and it seems such a pity that we could not have discussed the matter first and got agreement on the subject, which I think would have been possible by discussion.
