Dear Mr. Sidgreaves:

Report on Chassis Alteration No. 2
Frame - Section 7000 etc.
Alterations to frame etc. chassis 2501

Cause for Alteration.
Attached is a coachbuilder's arrangement print A-12238 showing existing series of chassis and a print A-14079 showing proposal. We also attach prints A-14046 and A-14078 showing detail construction of the front and rear ends of the frame.

The causes for making this alteration are principally:-

(1) Following England in sweeping down the rear end of the frame.

(2) Obtaining a low horizontal frame line under normal load. To get sufficient frame clearance in front it has been hitherto necessary to droop the frame 1-1/2" from front to rear. The new frame line with 20" wheels is 23" from the ground under normal load.

(3) Reducing the overall length of the car, for convenience in handling under crowded conditions.

(4) Using standard bumpers at standard height, to save cost of replacement and conform to SAE heights.

(5) Moving "kick up" at rear of frame as far back as the axle will allow to avoid interference with coachwork construction This is readily seen by comparison of the two coachbuilder's prints.
