I have fitted numerous bodies to chassis that have been converted by others the names of whom I presume you are fully conversant with.

The only type of chassis that I consider commends itself to cantilever springs is the 1912 with the enclosed torque.

I have by me a pair of the main trunnions to which you refer and should be quite willing for your inspecting Engineer to test same to see if they are more capable of carrying the strain than the bronze ones. Also I shall be very pleased if you care to, for you to inspect the raising of the Radiators and the method of adapting the water pipes so as to ensure that those cars that come through my hands are not going to lose their name for reliability.

I might mention that I have done a considerable number of these conversions and have obtained the best method and utilised the best materials and best workmanship in carrying the same out so that should you have any doubts I should be quite prepared for you to give these your usual test.

Thanking you for your letter and assuring you that all work carried out to your chassis has my best and personal attention, my just proof of satisfaction obtained being the numerous recommendations I have from clients for whom I have carried out the modernising of the chassis with new bodies, less the fitting of cantilever springs which as before stated

Contd.
