- 3 - Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} HALF INCH GUN. They emphasize that the problems on turrets of feed and disposal of links and ejection were becoming increasingly difficult because the Air Ministry were calling for increased quantities of ammunition to be carried in the turret and also, that the gunner should operate the wireless, the controls for which therefore, had to be brought into the turret. They have promised to let us have a list of some of the limitations. They are in agreement with Fraser Nash that they cannot get more than two half inch guns in place of four .303"s. Three guns seems a hopeless proposal in any turret. We asked them to look into the question of two .303"s and two ½" as a possible alternative. The shape of the Rolls Royce ½" gun seems to suit them but, as it will probably be necessary to modify its shape to facilitate wing installations, they cannot start fitting the gun into one of their turrets at the present moment.
