Bailey - Chief Engineer} GROUPED INSTRUMENTS. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.10/MA.18.5.34. Referring to your E.1/HP.17.5.34., we discussed this matter again with Mr.Nichols of Messrs. Smiths on the occasion of his visit last week. We told him that we had heard nothing since Mr.Dorer of his firm had taken away our proposals following his visit to our Works. Mr.Nichols promised us to look into the matter very carefully with a view to urging forward the suggested schemes and we have had a letter from him two days ago in which he stated that they expected very shortly to come up to Derby with their proposals following our suggestions.
