contd :- -2- We are supplying you with spring balances so that you may check the load of these shock dampers. As long as the variation is not more than 10%, it should not be necessary to re-fill the dampers. The glands of these shock dampers have stood up remarkably well on our endurance test on the bumper rig. If they leak badly however, we should like the caps removed after a fast run and the temperature of the oil taken with a thermometer. If at any time any lost movement appears in the shock dampers, we should suspect that the small hole, drilled to allow air to escape from the cylinder in cap F74643has become blocked up. We should like you to examine this point. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
