Dear Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Re Dubonnet Car Thank you very much for copies of notes on this matter. We have spent some time with Dubonnet and on his cars, of which he had two - a not very successful sedan car, & a stripped chassis which was more interesting. We think his device is neat and good in some ways. It lends itself to production. Freed steering linkage and a suspension unit combining the functions of spring & shock absorber are ultimately inevitable, one believes. We believe his device has detail faults which naturally I am not at liberty to detail to a "competitor" (particularly such a successful one as RR Ltd). As usual in such cases, his patent situation is by no means clear, either to us or (apparently) to him. | ||
