-2- The Adamant Eng. Co. Ltd. In order to help the job, we are sending you both a 8.030" and 6.750" pendulum lever, so that you will have them available whatever further decisions we make. There is no difficulty in fitting the J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} type box to our chassis, and particulars of the dimensions required are shown in Ex.12209 attached. Summarizing the position, we should like to know whether you propose to give us a standard J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} type steering box of 13.2/1 ratio, which is capable of allowing 88 1/2° pendulum lever angular movement, or alternatively, supplying another helix angle in the same box giving 16/1 ratio, that will only require 75° angular movement, and will enable us to use our standard pendulum lever. Naturally we should prefer to use our standard pendulum lever, but do not want you to produce a special worm for us if it is a costly business. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
