Design and casting modification of a car coolant pump, which is a copy of a Buick pump.

Enclosed is a drawing (EE.1989) of a car coolant pump. A pattern has been made for casting this in I/C. After the iron casings are cast, we would like to modify the pattern so that an I/C washer is cast in an aluminium body. Section AA.{D. Abbot-Anderson} has been altered to show this. We would like to know your views on the design. Except for the cast in washer, the design is a copy of the Buick pump. It is intended to copper plate the washer before casting.
