X 3513 Extract from E6/G31.3.21. Re Electrical Matters. Re Visit of Messrs. Wormald & Hives to W.W. on 19.3.21. (11) STARTER MOTORS ( GENERAL ). X.543. X.3513. X.3534. In constructing the future starter motors, Mr. Royce thinks we must do with punched plates enamelled, pushed on to a khurled shaft with the necessary hydraulic tackle for the assembly. This hydraulic tackle will be required for many operations around the motor. Try also bakelite commutators. We should like to put mica in between the commutator plates, then tie them together with bakelite, with embedded metal rings. Mr. Hives will find out what torque is required to turn the "Goshawk I" engine with the starter motor. | ||
