- 2 - I am quite sure that we must not introduce into our manufacture pistons which are going to knock, and which we admit will knock, and which will require an educational propaganda behind them in order to make them acceptable to Rolls-Royce Owners. I do not want to go into the past history of the introduction of aluminium pistons: that is done with but I am very seriously concerned as to the future. I should be glad if you will listen to and agree with the urgent appeal which Mr. Wormald has put forward and which I now endorse, that we should be allowed to use cast iron pistons until we have eliminated the knocking from the aluminium pistons. You may think my view is exaggerated. If you do think so, I hope you will have a Conference in London with all those who are concerned in the selling of Rolls-Royce cars, - the repair of Rolls-Royce cars, and who come into intimate intercourse with the owners of Rolls-Royce Cars: I am sorry to trouble you like this, but I feel the matter is rather vital. Yours ever, CJ. | ||
