= 524 Copy of Mr Bailey's report dated - January 15th.1912. Lentz Hydraulic System. My estimated efficiency at 75% was based upon the fact that for a single pump, a general efficiency is about 80%; but in order to allow for good work, use of oil everywhere reducing friction generally, I allowed 87% as the efficiency of the Lentz pumps, but the Motor also will have the same losses, so that the total efficiency will be 87% of 87%, or 75.7%. The more well known hydraulic gears are admittedly inefficient when the pumps are in action, and there is nothing novel in the Lentz system likely to give an increased efficiency when compared with general practice R.{Sir Henry Royce} W. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Bailey. | ||
