WRAITH III - MODIFIED FAN FIXING AND ADJUSTMENT.

Please receive herewith E.CD.524 Modified Fan Adjustment - Wraith III.

This design is made as requested by Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std. to enable the fan to be removed from the cylinder head when the engine is in the chassis.

We have shown the fan .250" lower in the engine than at present, to suit the existing 'Ferogrip' belts, which are apparently on the tight side with the existing fan position as mentioned in Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.3/MH. {M. Huckerby} 23.2.38.

The fan blades and hub are unaltered, the spindle is now produced from bar and the adjusting base is made from mild steel plate surface ground on flat faces. A new cylinder head front cover is required to suit the new fan fixing.

Will you please detail and instruct the necessary parts for this design to be tested experimentally as soon as possible.

We shall be sending a design shortly for Bentley III showing this modified fan fixing applied to that engine, in which we hope to use the fan unit complete as for Wraith III.
