Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} - 2 We now have a cable from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} saying that we should not proceed with the manufacture of gun parts here, but we are still expecting advise from you on your further machine tool requirements. (This cable was dated August 21) I quote below a memo from L.G. Ringholz: "Subject: Monarch Lathes for Turning 40 Millimeter 80" Long Barrel "Some time ago, I mentioned the fact that one lathe would be sufficient to handle proposed production on above subject component, the following will confirm same: "99.6 minutes required for all turning operations "10.9 minutes required for handling "110.5 total minutes required to complete machine one barrel."
