- 8 - Rear springs, bearings & shackles. These are all in good condition. Rear "Hartford" shock absorbers, to L.O.P. F.71600. Shock absorbers & bearings are in good condition. Shock absorbers have been set to give a friction load of 45 lbs. side brake mechanism (hand). This is in good condition, & has operated satisfactorily. Autovac & fittings - F.73498. This has functioned O.K. Examination of filter has been left over until 5,000 miles have been run. Electrical fittings. Distribution board & cut-out. Reynold cut-out contact points (gold & silver), & rigid fixed contact point. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Sch. 352. The condition of the points is very good, & the cut- out has operated satisfactorily. Other electrical fittings are in good condition. Spare wheel carriers. O.S. to H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Sch. 2023. N.S. to H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Sch. 2015. These are still in good condition, and both wheels have remained secure during the runs. The O.S. arrangement lends itself more readily for ease in changing wheels. Body subframe, using subframe brackets F.72192, F.73239 to H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Sch. 2001/2. The brackets appear to be in good condition. The two front bolts, holding the body to brackets, have broken. There is considerable side movement of body whilst running, and on occasions it has started an oscillation period sideways. Also, one can feel the chattering of the body which is taking place between the body and the brackets. Considerable movement is noticed on the floorboards. These are fitted with the necessary felt strips at the ends, which keep them from squeaking. pedals. Improved accelerator pedal "B" type to H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Sch.2044. This is more accessible to operate. Clutch pedal to give required movement for "B" type clutch. This gives us the necessary clearance required. We have had no trouble in disengaging the clutch. Bearings of clutch, foot brake and accelerator pedals are in good order. General examination of frame & fittings underneath the car. Tie rod brackets, diagonal stays & brackets, rear road springs, main bearings supports, cross tubes & equalising shafts - these are in good condition. | ||
