X8230 Mr. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. BY/SS.{S. Smith} BY9/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 11.11.25. I wish to confirm that we are in agreement with cutting down the intermediate exhaust pipe which projects into the front silencer until it is enclosed in the nozzle fitted into the front of the silencer in question to give a kind of ejector action to the second exhaust, from the rear engine of the engine. The amount we are cutting off is 5.9" We would like the Experimental to tell us whether there is any need for us to retain the nozzle, piece No. E.72877, which was introduced to give the ejector action referred to.
