H4565 To HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. BJ. PN.{Mr Northey} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 20 HP. STEERING. RE. LOW PRESSURE TYRES. R1/M8.9.24. X.4264 X.4565. We should be glad to know if low pressure tyres are better, or worse for steering wobbles. Is the complaint of heavy steering on Goshawks due to initial tightness, which should not exist, or failure of lubrication, or lubrication demanding unreasonable care? I assume we are right in fitting plain washers on both pivots to create friction. Would slightly lower geared steering be an advantage? R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
