FRAME STRENGTHENED FRONT END Further to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}17/G.7.3.38. re-issuing PD.113, I understand that it is now desired to make a further modification to the gusset shape and an additional line has been indicated in the plan, intermediate between the narrow and wide flanges, and shewn chain-dotted on PD.113, the riveting being modified as called for in the note on the drawing. This width shewn chain-dotted is such as can be got out of a strip 12" wide, the two frames referred to should be ordered to this. Prints already issued should be withdrawn and replaced by new ones. Presumably the remainder of the note still stands. At some future date it is intended to try the effect of plates between the frame and the cross to reinforce the point on the cross to which the gusset is attached.
