We are handing you herewith a copy of the Managing Director for India's letter regarding the Maharaja of Patiala's opinion conveyed to us in your letter of the 31st. May, together with a copy of our reply.

We assume that you may already be in touch with the Maharaja in England, in which case, additionally to the action which is being taken by Sir Reginald Ford in India, you may deem it desirable to convey our views to the Maharaja himself.
