X1031 35, MAYFIELD ROAD, MOSELEY, BIRMINGHAM. 11th May, 1925. Dear Mr Fowler Clark, A former assistant of mine at the B.L.I.C, Mr M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Berlyn, is looking out for a post for next summer when he comes down from Cambridge - where I fully expect him to take honours - and would above all else like to obtain a position in your firm. He is making an application direct to the company, but I am venturing to write to you on his behalf as I fully believe he would prove himself a useful man. During the three years or so he was with me he did excellent experimental work on motor car electrical apparatus. In particular he did most of the work in developing an almost closed circuit ignition coil which I have not seen improved on. I should be glad to have him at Lucas', but he wants to try to obtain a post with a firm such as your own. If you are likely to have a suitable vacancy I believe he would prove himself much above the average. Please pardon my troubling you - I perhaps needlessly - I am, Very truly yours E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Turner. | ||
