Exptl. Dept. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.15/KW. 28th February, 1935. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Olley, Esq., c/o.{Mr Oldham} The Cadillac Motor Car Co., Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Dear Mr. Olley, We are still making surprising discoveries about your Cadillac. It now appears that the calculated initial spring deflection with the car empty is 4" at the front and 4.750" at the back. Do you agree with this ? We fully realise that our method for estimating the initial deflection, namely, the initial deflection of the spring multiplied by the wheel leverage, is not considered useful by America, but we should like to know if these figures of 4" front and 4.750" rear are reasonable results for the method used. If our estimation is approximately correct, it is all the more surprising how you have managed to obtain such a good riding motor car. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
