| To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. c. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} 240 BENTLEY II DUMMY SHUTTER SETS. You will recollect that it was decided to make the dummy shutter stiffener on B.II Radiator identical with that on B.III radiator (in order to avoid double tool cost) i.e. stiffener in one piece instead of two separate halves as previously fitted on the sample sets which we already have. It now turns out, however, that on B.II radiator the one piece stiffener prevents the shutter set being dropped on to the locating studs since the top support brackets and studs of the two halves of the shutter set are at an angle to each other and rigidly held so by the centre stiffener. Hence it would be necessary to move the two top support brackets relative to each other in order to fit them, which is rendered impossible by the one piece stiffener. In order to get over this difficulty will you please instruct for the top supports to be secured to the B.II top tank be setscrews instead of studs. This difficulty, of course, does not arise on B.III. Will RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} please supply Messrs. Marstons with six milled head setscrews to be used on the passing off radiator which they have. Messrs. Marstons themselves will remove the studs at present fitted to the top tank.
