X.7650. EAC.7 SEQUENCE STARTER. X.8650.

The fitting of the No.1 scheme of sequence starter to EAC.7. chassis has, at our request, been under consideration. I have now been informed that it is very inconvenient and rather expensive to do this, by a note addressed to me, in the following words :-

"As the pitch circle diameter of the three securing bolts has been reduced from 3.625 (No.1 scheme) to 2.750 (No.2. scheme) any adaptor flange is out of the question.
The original crankcase for No.1 scheme is not now available, and to repeat the instruction means alteration to existing pattern involving further cost and delay".

The No.2. apparatus has been sent to you recently, together with the Bosch apparatus, in connection with further design.

Even if this were returned to us I fear that we cannot be very hopeful of it being successful in its present modified form. As far as we can see, therefore, there would appear to be no alternative but to let EAC.7. be without a starter for the time being, and await the completion of the No.2. B (outwards movement) scheme, about which we have enquired in our note EFC5/T22.6.27, unless we incur the expense referred to above.
