With reference to your blue pencil note, "Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}:- Should they not have a 10,000 miles road test? CJ. on BnB/WS.3.20. returned herewith, Capt. Hallam considers that any new part, such as a new type of piston, for repair work, should be treated in the same way as the standardisation of a new piece for current production cars. There does not appear to be any other logical way of looking at the matter, and unless we are instructed otherwise, these pistons will be run for 10,000 miles on the road or equivalent dynamo tests before they are fitted as standard for repair cars.
