RECEIVED 21 FEB 1931 Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Ca. Y 582 BY/Cgh{W Clough}/G.20.2.31. re 20/25 HP. CHASSIS - SIDE LEVERS. With reference to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E.6.2.31. we have taken the matter up with the Works, and we find that the brake lever could be bent in over the gear lever as suggested on the 125th chassis in 'S' series, therefore we are arranging accordingly. This alteration will, of course, take effect on both types of side lever mechanism fitted on this chassis. The reason the Works are unable to bring in the alteration before this point is that they have a number of brake levers nickel plated, and it is not possible to bend the levers when they have been plated without damaging them. We notice that a standardisation sheet has been issued covering the above, but Phantom ll is also referred to, therefore we would like to know if it is intended that we should have the brake levers bent on all types of side lever mechanism used on Phantom ll.
