X.7535 EFCL/AD. 24th April, 1930. The National Accumulator Co.Ltd. 93, Gt. Portland St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} London, W.1. Dear Sirs, Further to our recent correspondence concerning the design of cell lids for our Phantom II chassis batteries and the question of the possibility of the Chloride Co. adopting your own design of cell lids on account of such design having appeared to us as being more suitable for the use of burnt up connections, we have recently received from the Chloride Co. a letter, a copy of which we enclose, this letter being the outcome of their having made a study of the blue prints which you kindly forwarded to us for passing on to that Company. In all the circumstances we do not propose to take the matter any further with the Chloride Co. more particularly in view of the fact that we have now in our hands, two batteries, one from each of yourselves and the Chloride Co. and each battery having burnt up series connections, but each battery, on the other hand, containing the particular design of cell lid{A. J. Lidsey} favoured by the Company it represents. These two batteries will be used together and in exactly similar circumstances and will enable us to draw up our own conclusions as to the superiority, if any, of one design as compared with the other when burnt up connections are used. We wish, at this stage, to thank you for the trouble you have taken in the matter. There is another small point to which we wish to refer. At present the top edges of your positive plates slant down uniformly from the lug to the far | ||
