W/S. {Derby Works / Sales} Bt. {Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer} from Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Y3745 Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 3/LG27.2.29. LEATHER GAITERS. With reference to Btl/LH {Mr Haworth} 26.2.29. attached. It would not be a practical scheme to put Zip fasteners on to our leather joints. The Zip fastener would never work when it had become saturated with mud and dirt as it necessarily would do when fitted to these exposed joints. Another point is, there should be very little occasion to remove the leather gaiters. On all modern cars we have spring controlled ball joints and therefore there is no need for adjustment.
