1026. c. to Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}10/JH. 27th. June, 1939. Messrs. Amal Ltd., Holford Works, Perry Barr, BIRMINGHAM. For the attention of Mr. Soresby. Dear Sirs, Further to our conversation of a few days ago, regarding bonnet fasteners, we must apologise for not writing before but the revised stiffening plate drawings have just come to hand, and two prints are enclosed herewith. This should put the matter in order. We should like to confirm that two sets of stiffeners were ordered, one in .048" steel and the other in .104" alum and you were going to let us know whether any alteration to the spindle length would be required by using the thicker gauge material. Three pairs of escutcheons were called for, not six pairs as stated in your letter, as we have a car which is only fitted with two fasteners. The second part of your letter giving the quotations for fasteners has been passed on to Mr. Leslie with whom all cost negotiations should now be carried out. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
