Experimental Dept. - X3770 Mr. Warwick. Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}18/W2.11.25. Re Chassis No. 9-G-3. Steering. The steering is very nice and easy to manipulate, and is particularly good in as much as it does not become heavy at the end of the lock, as in the case of the standard 20HP. steering. There is a noticeable joggle between 35 and 40 m.p.h. which I think is caused by the wheels being out of balance. A low speed wobble can be produced when it is tried for. It self-centres very quickly - perhaps a little bit too quickly. Other points that I noticed on the car were as follows :- Timing Gears - noisy and uneven. Tyres - very noisy. Gears - 3rd. speed only fair. Throttle - does not appear to open fully. There is a slight tap in the Engine between 18 and 20 m.p.h. We have noticed a similar noise on other 20HP. Engines, but we have not been able to completely cure it. It is only slight. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} | ||
