X.1109 - TRANSFORMER FOR INSULATION TESTING. X.1581

Further to our EFCS/T2.9.20, we have looked over the quotations for transformers submitted to us by the G.O. The one from the British Electric Transformer Co., 3 K.V.A. is quite out of the question. We certainly do not require a capacity of more than 1 K.V.A. The quotation from the Foster Engineering Co. for a suitable transformer of 1 K.V.A. seems rather on the high side. Perhaps the Foster Engineering Co. would quote for a smaller transformer of, say, 1/2 K.V.A. We think that a transformer of between 1/2 and 1 K.V.A. would be quite large enough for our purpose.

We have now looked up some addresses of firms manufacturing transformers for wireless purposes, which we think might be of use to us. The two most likely ones are :-

Messrs. W. Mackie & Co.,
Palace Engineering Wks.
129-133 Lambeth Road,
S.E.1.

Messrs. Bowday & Co.,
2a, Sydney Villas,
Pelham Road,
Wimbledon, S.W.19.

There are also the two following addresses which might be tried if the above two turn out to be of no use :-

Contd.
