Mr. Whitehouse,

BIRMINGHAM.4.

Dear Mr. Whitehouse,

Since speaking to you on the telephone this morning, I have checked up the length of the rear blind roller which we were discussing, and find this to be 3/8" short. In my letter of April 30th, the length given of the barrels was 35". The sample which you have sent is 35" over the pulley which was the source of our discussion this morning.

As explained to you on the telephone, the pulley mentioned is not required and I do not think could be used in a private car. We shall fix the blind at the bottom of the backlight and it will be operated by the means of a cord attached to the blind material in the usual way. The fittings should be of the same type as those you supplied with the barrel made in wood; the only difference being that we require something of better quality. The sample which you sent is quite satisfactory in this point however, and I had hoped that we should have been able to modify the pulley here, but now that I find the barrel is too short, this is not possible.

As you are thinking of calling on us next week, perhaps you can bring a replacement with you which will avoid a lot of booking out and in with our Stores. We are asking our Purchasing Department to send you our official order covering this.

Yours faithfully,
