| X 2625 HIGHTENSITE LIMITED. Normandy Works, Custom House, LONDON, E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 16. 30th october, 1919. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale, Road, DERBY. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 23rd inst. ref. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}/Msll/E and note that you require Ignition Tubes to be covered with Ebonite only. Any machining and polishing to be done at your Works. We have covered up the sample Tube you sent to us and this has been despatched to you. This Tube will give you a general idea of what we can do, but you will probably notice that the Ebonite in the side holes has been carried rather too far down into the Tube, also the edges of same inside are rather sharp. These defects will be overcome in bulk by using a special forming tool. We have very much pleasure in enclosing our quotation for this work and trust that our sample and prices will induce you to give us a trial order.
