To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} BY/RD.2/B.5.6.39. LUCAS HEADLAMPS. With reference to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}6/N.24.5.39., re the peeling off of enamel. We have not previously come across this trouble, but for your information we are testing lamps that have not been enamelled on the inside as the material is of a non-ferrous character, and the deletion of internal enamelling is an economy which is being put forward.
