RE LANCHESTER EPICYCLIC GEAR. X440

With reference to above and
your letter of the 25th ult the gear box
left the works this morning per passenger
train addressed to Mr Royce.

I have sent the gearing complete
with the drums and shoes and external
actuating mechanism so that you will be
able to obtain all necessary important
figures yourself.

Waldron will be able to
help you as regards dismantling and
re-erecting under your supervision.

I attach some particulars which
Mr Hives has supplied in answer to your
letter and trust this will be satisfactory.

Please let me know whether you
intend returning this gear early or whether
you propose keeping same for some time,

Contd.

[Handwritten in margin]:
See particulars supplied by Mr Hives in E.P. duplicate book 1/8/12
