X440 With reference to above and your letter of the 25th ult the gear box left the works this morning per passenger train addressed to Mr Royce. I have sent the gearing complete with the drums and shoes and external actuating mechanism so that you will be able to obtain all necessary important figures yourself. Waldron will be able to help you as regards dismantling and re-erecting under your supervision. I attach some particulars which Mr Hives has supplied in answer to your letter and trust this will be satisfactory. Please let me know whether you intend returning this gear early or whether you propose keeping same for some time, Contd.
