To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} +457 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M22. 8.25. PHANTOM FRONT AXLE. X. 8420 X. 8430 X. 457 X. 8425 Herewith we send N.sch. 2045 shewing the proposed hydraulic damper for the front axle for use in connection with the high speed wobble tests. It is intended to be fitted to an existing axle, but slight modifications to the cross steering lever are required to accommodate the ball end. We shall send you those in the course of a day or so. This is regarded as very possible solution to the steering wobble trouble and should be pushed through as far as possible. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
