Status report on the delivery of parts for the 40/50 HP Chassis 'V' Series.

Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}4/NJ6.3.25. 40/50 HP. Chassis - "V" Series. Referring to Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}10/M4.3.25 and the note Sft{Mr Swift}7/EMM4.3.25 thereto attached. I have gone through the items which Sft.{Mr Swift} states have not yet been delivered by O.O. and am able to report as follows:- 1. Controls. Pressing E.73213 is a Bracket. The order for this was sent to suppliers on the 5th inst. We hope to obtain delivery in 7/10 days. 2. Engine Bearer Arm. Tube E.73196. Makers promise delivery in 7 days. 7. Exhaust Nozzle. The order for pressings E.73165 was issued on 28th ult. and we specified delivery in 10/14 days, but I cannot say whether makers will succeed in getting the work through in this very limited time. 8. Pedals. The 3 drop forgings which we are obtaining from outside were ordered on Hughes-Johnson on 5th inst. and we expect delivery will be effected in 3/4 weeks from the present. New dies are required for each of the 3 forgings. For this section we have also to obtain Hardy Clutch Fabric, which was only ordered on 27th ult. We expect delivery in 10/14 days. This item was somewhat delayed, awaiting the decision of the Efficiency Committee as to whether the Fabrics should be ordered out complete with Driving Plates or whether the Driving Plates would be fitted here. 9. Ignition Governor. The spring referred to E.73208 has been instructed in Works, 5th inst. 13. Exhaust Choke Valve. Spindle E.73209 was instructed to Works yesterday. Lever E.73210, drop forgings being ordered today on Hughes-Johnson. It will be 3/4 weeks before the forgings come in. Links E.73212 & E.73168 will be d/d to us in 4/5 days. (contd) | ||
