W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq.,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited,
DERBY.

Dear Mr. Robotham,

I am enclosing herewith a copy of the measurements of the tyres from Mr. Hall's Bentley which covered 19 laps in the T.T. Race at Belfast on September 7th. I also enclose a blueprint showing the amount of rubber worn off and the amount of tread rubber (to dotted line) still left on the tyres.

The wear on these tyres in the race was actually less than that in the trials but it must be remembered that the trial tyres were changed over to Mr. Hall's tourer for several laps which undoubtedly wore off more rubber than the racing car.

If you are interested, I would be glad to send you a section of the tyres which we have cut. These sections show very plainly the effect of cornering at high speeds.

Yours faithfully,
INDIA TYRE & RUBBER COMPANY LIMITED.

John Young

Assistant Works Manager.
