| -2- 3. Diagonal Stays to rear of Body. We left with you F.CD.916 shewing the diagonal stays from the centre of the second cross-member of the chassis to the body at the base of the rear squab board. Provision should be made for the attachment of these stays to the body at this section. 4. Delivery. A provisional date of delivery for this body was fixed as November 12th.1938, subject to your confirmation. We are considering letting you have the chassis at Willesden, in which case every precaution to ensure secrecy will have to be considered. Since our visit to your Works we have received various correspondence re the above body from yourselves. We are glad to note that you confirm the delivery date of November 12th. and if the chassis is available, and it is decided to send it to Willesden, we shall endeavour for you to receive it several days before this date, so that mounting can go along in parallel with trimming and finishing. We agree that you will be in order in charging us for any slight alterations which we have called for from time to time, due to modifications in the chassis after the body construction had commenced, and thank you for offering to put these through on cost. In future we shall have pleasure in sending you a second copy of our letters. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. W Harvey Bailey CHIEF ENGINEER - CHASSIS. | ||
