Phantoms for U.S.A.

Some weeks ago Springfield requested that all Phantoms that we send to America should be fitted with 14-tooth axles.

I wrote fully to Mr.Fuller explaining the many disadvantages of adopting this principle, such as the difficulty of obtaining silent back axles and the considerable delay which would probably be incurred every time a chassis was wanted for America, as we could not then supply them with chassis which were built or partly built and, if a customer ordered a car which was already fitted with/a body, it would delay delivery many weeks whilst we were obtaining a 14-tooth axle.

I have now received a reply saying that Springfield have reversed their decision in accordance with our suggestion.

BJ.
