To C. BYRD. from EFC. X7655 EFC3/T15.2.29. S.S. SEQUENCE STARTER May we refer you to our EFC2/T15.2.29 from which you will note that towards the end we suggest that as a result of our rig tests certain modifications should be incorporated in the new motors with parallel armatures from the point of view of better engagement. In regard to the question of main armature spring we can give particulars of the spring and packing and set up force which we have used and which perhaps should be instructed in the first instance. We are of the opinion that at least one of the longer low rate springs which we have asked you to instruct will show itself up to be more convenient, and equally favourable with the present spring arrangement on which we have made the tests.
