Robotham, Esq, Rolls Royce Ltd. Derby. Dear Sir, We enclose drawings for a gear box which Mr Hall proposes to use with the P.3 engine. The makers of the box ask that you will be good enough to say whether there is sufficient clearance in the case to take your clutch and also whether you consider that the Oilite bush between their inner and outer shafts will be sufficient to prevent the small amount of oil which will leak through onto it from the gearbox getting onto the clutch. They will, if necessary fit a felt washer or oil return screw further up the annulus. They further ask if you could arrange to cut the spline etc on the first motion shaft to suit your clutch parts. They feel that as you have the tools for this, it would be better and easier were you able to take care of this matter. We would appreciate your comments at your early convenience as Mr. Hall wishes to put the box in hand as soon as it has passed your views in regard to the matters raised above. Yours faithfully, METROPOLIS GARAGES LTD. [Signature] Managing Director. | ||
