S/W Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X180 C14/C1.6.28 Lord Wargrave's Trip to Spain I have today seen Lord Wargrave's Secretary, R.H.Cale, M.C., and have shown him 8-EX, and a Trials car which is fitted with a similar body to 14-EX. He thinks there is not the slightest doubt that Lord Wargrave would far prefer to have 8-EX because this is fitted with a big roomy body with plenty of glass which is better for viewing the country, whereas the other car, as you know, is of the Sedanca type with no windows to the quarters, and therefore with very little visibility except straight ahead. Unless, therefore, you think R.{Sir Henry Royce} is particularly desirous of Lord Wargrave having 14-EX we propose making arrangements for 8-EX. Will you please let me know. The arrangements made are that the car should cross over on the morning of the 12th inst. and Dodd should then go over to Calais, unless, of course, he goes over on the Calais boat. He is to pick Lord Wargrave up on his arrival by the boat arriving at Calais at 7.5 p.m. and drive him to Boulogne, where he will stay for the night, commencing the tour the next morning. C. | ||
