Wyman Please note X5860 To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From G.W.H. Hotel de France. Chateauroux. Indre. 24.5.33 18. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} IV. We have received your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KT 22/5/33. We will try out a scheme for reducing the oil consumption in conjunction with the crankcase breather. We only fitted the silencer back yesterday and our oil consumption dropped from 774 to 537 M.P.G. With regards to shock dampers I am going to try an entirely new scheme for the glands, which I am trusting will overcome the leak trouble. I will let you know the results before I send you the scheme. The chief thing I am aiming at is to balance the pressure at either end of the bearing, having done this I believe the chief trouble will have been solved. [Signature: G.W.Hancock] G.W.H.
