TELEPHONE: CENTRAL 8641 (18 LINES) TELEGRAMS: "BUMPERS, BIRMINGHAM." 261 WILMOT-BREEDEN LTD EASTERN WORKS BIRMINGHAM 1 MANAGING DIRECTOR'S OFFICE 25th July 1941. W.A. Robotham Esq. Rolls-Royce Ltd. DERBY. Dear Robotham, I expect to have my car finally finished to-day, and in about a week's time I expect to have the complete new set of Bumpers, over-riders, and aprons fitted. I mentioned these to you, if you will recollect, as representing an idea from us as to an appropriate set of bumpers and aprons for this particular car. It follows out entirely your wish that there should be no projecting bolt heads of any kind, and the springs are actually welded at each end. I have also in front of me now the first finished sample of bumper for the Myth, in which the same idea has been carried out in a different way. I regret that after trying several and scrapping them, we have still failed to get a finish on the over-riders that would be even approaching what is necessary for standard production, but I do think that the finish on the bar is good, and that the general idea will help to enable you to come to a decision. I should like to bring this over, with that on my own car, during the week commencing August 3rd, if you could give me a day some time towards the end of that week, by which time I am hoping that the bulk of the hardware and other fittings will be delivered, | ||
