Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /LES. Files SHOCK DAMPER TESTS X 4648 23-1-39. 40/50 BUMP - FRONT - AFTER 100 HRS. OBJECT OF TEST. To ensure that the latest production method of fastening the valve damping disc F85639 to the L.P. valve F85640 (by taper) was sound. Also to test the 50% area bellows; these latter were actually the HS {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1242 models of F85875. Both these details were found to be O.K. The initial loads when checked were found to be 55 LB N.S, 62LB O.S. The dampers were then refitted with production F85875, 50% bellows, the valve "hat" clearances being also increased to .020", and the initial loads set at 60LB. The loads checked at 30LB/D" as follows:- NS {Norman Scott} 210LB . O.S 234LB. H. {Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Bell | ||
